A complete SOW for the OCR Cambridge Technical Level 3 in Business - Unit 1: The Business Environment. The SOW covers all of the content that students need to know for the unit as well as establishing SMSC links, More Able/Gifted and Talented Provision and Literacy/Numeracy opportunities. The SOW is split up into teacher 1 and teacher 2 but can be combined with ease.

A scheme of work for the OCR Cambridge National Enterprise and Market - RO64 - Enterprise and Marketing Concepts unit. This highlights all the content that students need to be taught as well as links to SMSC, Literacy/Numeracy and provision for More Able, Gifted and Talented Students. The SOW will allow for effective delivery of the examined unit.

The lesson turns the classroom into the stock market floor with students buying and selling in a range of made up organisations. The news in brief gives an insight into the next weeks trading as students become money hungry and strive to outdo each other. The lesson teaches the concepts of shares and share prices. More specifically the factors that might influence share prices.

The lesson is a trading game based around the topics of factors of supply and demand. The students work in groups buying and selling batches of fictional Teddy Bears. As different things occur the price for raw materials changes as does the selling price of the Teddy Bears. At the end of the lesson I do a small debrief with the students looking at the factors affecting the supply and demand for products. Very interactive lesson that engages students from the off.

A revision lesson targeting knowledge and understanding of the early calculations within the AQA Alevel specification. However this can be used for other specifications and used as a stretch and challenge activity for MAGT students within GCSE classes. Topics covered are: Costs, Revenue and Profits Breakeven calculations Breakeven charts Cashflow forecasting.

An introductory lesson on the concept of Game Theory and the Nash Equilibrium. The lesson is interactive with the students participating in some Game Theory games before looking at some of the concepts around the topic and and how to construct a basic playoff matrix.

An interactive introductory lesson on the topic of critical path. I either get the students to complete the critical path on their desks using whiteboard pens or I buy a roll of wallpaper for them to write on. The lesson starts by looking at my breakfast before introducing the idea of critical path. I print out the slide showing nodes etc and give this to the students to aid them in completing the exercises.

An A Level business lesson on the topic of Payback periods. The resources contains step by step student instructions for calculating payback periods as well as a learning ladder. The idea of the learning ladder is based on that of SOLO taxonomy enabling students to move from the most basic understanding to one where they can review a range of factors in relation to the topic.

A revision lesson on the topics of globalisation and protectionism. The QR codes provide students with the information to complete and create their concept maps. They then use this concept map to undertake the exam question which is peer or self assessed. I use a PIE structure which allows the students to show impact of their suggestions on the business and then explain this out. The QR codes work for any device i.e. mobile phone or iPads.

The lesson is loosely based on the board game the game of life. The students are split into groups and have different scenarios that they must chose and then record the consequences of their decisions. These are both good and bad. This will lead all the students to get into some for of debt, i.e. and overdraft, loan or student loan which they must repay. Each round is a different scenario that people might face in life. The students all record their incomings and outgoings on the record sheet, as well as keeping track of their debt and repayments they are making. The lesson ends with a discussion around the topics of debt management, interest and is debt a bad thing?

A GCSE Location lesson based around Eastenders. The idea of the lesson is rooted in Learning Study where learning variables are turned off and on with the whole picture being brought together at the end of the lesson as consolidation. The lesson focuses around students locating new businesses based on new information, the information is as follows: Proximity to Customers Cost of Land Infrastructure Competition Skilled/Unskilled Workers All factors as one. The idea of the lesson is to provide discussion around what the students considered when locating and why they considered it. The end activity enables students to make a rational decision about if location is important or not.

Edexcel GCSE Business 9-1 Theme 1 - Section 1.3 End of Unit Assessment and Mark Scheme. This assessment covers the whole of section 1.3: Putting Business Ideas into Practice. This is complete with a mark scheme and a student/teacher/peer assessment tool to aid students with the DIRT following the assessment and to build meaningful and useful feedback to move forward and make progress.

An end of unit assessment and mark scheme for GCSE Edexcel Business 9-1 specification. Theme 2 Building a Business - Section 2.5. Making Human Resource Decisions. This is complete with Mark Scheme and student/teacher/peer reflection to identify areas for improvement within the students knowledge. The front sheet allows for easy green pen and DIRT to take place to show reflection upon progress.

An hour and a half CPD session based around the idea of stretch and challenge. Delivered to whole school and then a breakout session to discuss, develop and plan. THe accompanying resources that will facilitate the interactive session along with discussion and instructions on the slide. Pictures of my displays can be used if you like or can be changed to school specific. Use along side the embedding differentiation - 8 easy and effective ideas for a complete whole school drive on stretch and challenge.

An interactive and engaging lesson on sampling method. This was created specifically for the OCR Cambridge Tech Enterprise and Marketing. The idea is that the students use Skittles to create and analyse different sampling methods. This could be used for other GCSE and A-Level specifications. The only additional item that is needed to teach the lesson is Skittles.

There are two different assessment tasks which cover section 2.3. of the Edexcel GCSE Business Studies 9-1. The resources is ideal for use as ongoing assessment, end of topic assessment or homework. Complete with Edexcel standard mark schemes to support the assessment of pupils. The front sheet of the assessment allows for targets to be set by the teacher, student and their peers in an easy to do format. A lesson on the recruitment and selection process which is historically a dull subject. This is student led through the use of research and a structures worksheet and QR codes to guide students through the process - add in additional engagement by adding a funny picture of yourself and get the students to think about the things you would have done to get your job in school. Its a nice starter that the students will know a little about. Therefore assesses student understanding at the start. The lesson concludes with the students looking at why having a recruitment and selection process is important. Very hands on and lots for the students to do.
